"When I met Carlos Catania on May 24, 2001, I was a 32-year old grappling competitor with a losing 15-17 record. I had won 3 advanced division tournaments but had been struggling the whole way. Carlos showed me a foot lock, put a gi on me the next class and he has been my Jiu Jitsu sensei ever since. In the past 8-plus years I have managed to win over 80 more championships and competed at the highest lvel in the grappling circuit. Using Carlos' intricate techniques and strategies, I have been able to win about 90 percent of my matches and have defeated multiple World Champions, many of them Brazilian fighters who have been grappling for over 20 years. I am often called a "Cruiserweight Carlos Catania" by my contemporaries on the circuit, and I take that with great pride. Carlos not only molded me as a fighter, but his philosophies have made me a better person, a better husband to my longtime wife and the best father to my children.
